Transport Operator in Milton Keynes

We are looking for a talented Transport Coordinator to be based in our customer site in Milton Keynes. Shift pattern will be Monday to Friday, 6am start based on a 40-hour week.

You will be responsible for delivering an end-to-end transport plan, ensuring that safety, service and savings targets are adhered to. Working with a team ethos to ensure an excellent and valued service is provided to all customers, whilst gaining trust and respectful business relationships.

Pay, benefits and more: We are looking to offer a salary of up to £32,291 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Creating cost effective haulage plans in line with the customers expectations and Service Level Agreements.
• Looking after the day to day vehicle & driver compliance.
• Ability to react and positively adapt to the demands of the customers in a dynamic live environment.
• Consistency in communication with respect to planning changes and service delivery with both customers and supplier hauliers.
• Possess commercial awareness in line with baseline protocols ensuring ad hoc deliveries are agreed effectively and recorded.
• A team player with a flexible approach to working hours, showing commitment as necessary to satisfying fluctuating business demands.
• Ensuring effective and efficient use of the transport planning systems adopting best practice and general housekeeping.
• Recognise peers strengths and weaknesses, offer support to achieve business and personal goals.
• Continually look to improve the service we provide offering ideas and recommendations as necessary.
• Proactively prevent accidents and reduce hazards by ensuring that Company Policy, Health & Safety Standards, and standards of housekeeping are always followed across the Platform.
• Perform other duties assigned by their manager from time to time.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Experience of working in a Transport environment.
• Experience of transport planning in a 3PL environment is desirable.
• Good working knowledge of UK Geography.
• Experience in using transport planning software.
• Awareness of Large Goods Vehicles and Trailer combination equipment types.
• Successful track record in communication and building relationships with customers.
• Experience in a challenging Customer Service environment.
