Are you looking to use your transport supervisory or management experience in a new role? Do you like the sound of working on a large, complex operation with one of the biggest names in logistics? Are you ready for a challenge?

Here at XPO, we’re looking for a full-time, Transport Manager to join us on Mon to Fri 8am – 5pm, shift pattern for our Tesco contract based in Widnes.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective running of our transport function.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £49,500 per annum plus car allowance. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  1. Support the Operations Manager with various ER tasks that are required, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances etc.
  2. Ensure that the weekly fleet maintenance and damage costings are submitted within required submission times.
  3. Oversee and support with Operator Licence compliance for the site.
  4. Manage Tachomaster and Trailermaster compliance, ensuring systems are accurate and up to date.
  5. Manage compliance administrators, ensuring key tasks are completed to the right standard, and when required.
  6. Ensure vehicle incidents and personal injuries are investigated to the correct standard and correct procedures are followed and systems updated.
  7. Monitor driver performance and compliance, including Tachomaster reporting and Driver scoring.
  8. Oversee operational process compliance on site, including servicing and MOT booking compliance.
  9. Support the site safety agenda, including Road2Zero objectives and roadmap actions.
  10. Work closely with HR Manager and General Manager to manage all site colleagues through XPO policies and procedures.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  1. Understanding of key operational cost drivers and P&L or cost centre management and cost focused.
  2. Confidence in utilising Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  3. CPC holder.
  4. Experience of developing relationships with trade unions or employee work groups.
  5. Experience of managing HR processes.
