We're looking for a talented Transport Coordinator to join us on a permanent basis at our site in Scunthorpe.

Pay, benefits and more: We're looking to offer a salary of up to £28,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Be the primary contact point for customers and haulier partners.
  • Ensure that safety, service and savings targets are adhered to.
  • Work with a team ethos to ensure an excellent and valued service is provided to all customers.
  • Proactively prevent accidents and reduce hazards by ensuring that Company Policy, Health & Safety Standards and standards of housekeeping are always followed.
  • Creating cost effective haulage plans in line with the customers' expectations and Service Level Agreements.
  • React and positively adapt to the demands of the customers in a dynamic live environment.
  • Maintain consistency in communication with respect to planning changes and service delivery with both customers and supplier hauliers.
  • Possess commercial awareness in line with baseline protocols ensuring ad hoc deliveries are agreed effectively and recorded.
  • Work with the Finance Team to resolve customer and haulier issues.
  • Be a team player with a flexible approach to working hours, showing commitment as necessary to satisfying fluctuating business demands.
  • Ensure effective and efficient use of the transport planning systems adopting best practice and general housekeeping.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • An understanding of transport planning and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills - you'll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook.
  • The ability to work to deadlines efficiently and effectively.
  • Experience of working in a cost-sensitive environment.
  • Experience of transport planning in a 3PL environment is desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of UK Geography.
  • Experience in using transport planning software.
