We're on the lookout for a Transport Operator to join our team on the Fuchs contract. This is a full-time, permanent role working the mid shift, Monday to Friday, 10:00 - 19:00. You'll be at the heart of ensuring our transport operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Pay, benefits and more: We're looking to offer a salary of up to Β£26,200 per annum. As well as this, you'll receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks. There is also an opportunity to learn and progress through the transport operation.
What you'll do on a typical day:
- Coordinate 18+ drivers
- Manage sub-contract bookings and dispatch
- Oversee vehicle loading and driver dispatch
- Communicate with customers, hauliers and internal XPO Network Sites
- Handle debrief paperwork and proof of delivery
- Support planning, maintenance, and KPI reporting
- Maximise vehicle utilisation and build strong haulier relationships
Service Levels:
- Ensure on-time deliveries and report delays
- Maintain accurate and secure documentation
- Support efficient document retrieval and compliance
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- 1-2 years experience working within a transport office or office environment.
- Strong communication and administration skills, able to handle different personality types.
- Great organisational skills, management capability and strong influencing skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word and Excel would be an advantage but training will be provided.
