If the answer is yes, then we are looking for someone like youto join our team working on the British Gypsum contract in Barrow Upon Soar a Weighbridge Operator.

The main purpose of the weighbridge operator is to ensure the smooth operation of the Weighbridge facility, acting as the first and last point of contact for all staff and contractors.

The operator will also be responsible for ensuring that all legal and contractual obligations are met, including site inductions completed and weight checks carried out.

The weighbridge operator acts as a key component of the transport function, liaising with them regularly to ensure the delivery of a first-class service to our customer.

You will be working Mon-Fri on rotating shifts of Monday to Friday rotation AM ( week 1 ) and PM shift ( week 2 ) AM 05:00-13:30PM 13:30-22:00.

What youll do on a typical day: To weigh in and out all vehicles, recording both weighs and ensuring there are no variances that are outside the tolerance.

Comply with all legislative requirements, Company policies and procedures and customer-specific requirements.

Ensure that all personnel entering site have been inducted using the rapid induct system.

Check that only authorised vehicles and people enter on to the site.

Ensure that all vehicles that enter and exit site are logged.

Issue site rules to all drivers.

Ensure the XPO operating areas are compliant with hygiene standards as dictated by the Contract management team Yard areas, loading areas etc Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Ensure that all shipments are despatched on SAP Understand and comply with all relevant Company rules, agreements, policies, procedures and with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice.

Ensure Company business is treated in the strictest confidence and not disclosed to persons outside the Company.

Act in a professional manner, ensure good working relationships are maintained and promote a good image of the Company at all times Maintain and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards, to be aware of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System, OHSAS18001 and to appreciate the responsibility you have to adhere to the respective procedures.

Be aware that the Company operates a Quality Assurance system ISO 9001:2008 and adhere to the respective procedures.

Ensure a good standard of housekeeping through observance of relevant Company policies and ensure that work areas are secure and locked when unoccupied.

Where appropriate challenge and determine reasons for presence on site of any unauthorised person.

Attend any development training as required in compliance with the Companys commitment to colleagues.

What you need to succeed at XPO: Previous experience of working in a logistics environment.

Approximately 2 years Health & Safety Awareness Experience of working with XPO Fleet Management systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good literacy and numeric skills Internal/Logistics qualifications Knowledge of relevant XPO systems Accurate and Precise Attention to detail Able to write clear & detailed reports.
