Do you like the idea of supporting the transport function on a brand-new key contract for one of the biggest, fastest-growing names in logistics? Are you ready for your next challenge?

We’re looking for a Transport Coordinator to support on a 6 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave at our site in Mold. Your role will be to co-ordinate the transport operations of the depot in order to achieve business objectives and the needs of the customer. Working Monday to Friday core hours (with some flexibility - this is logistics after all).

Pay, benefits and more: We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £27,750 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Dispatch routes to achieve contractual delivery times, conducting remedial planning to effectively manage live changes to the plan.
  • Ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Ensure that details of vehicle accidents are escalated to line management.
  • Ensure that defected vehicles are recorded on traffic sheets.
  • Ensure that the procedure for damaged deliveries is followed where necessary.
  • Use all IT based systems in the effective delivery of their role including YMS, Sphere & WTS.
  • Ensure that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to both internal and external customers as required e.g. debrief of drivers, dealing with customer issues etc.
  • Ensure that all traffic planning activity is undertaken in line with legislative requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety requirements highlighting any concerns to line management.
  • Conduct relevant QHSE activities: Care Cards, Bsafe, Safety Conversations etc.
  • Identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities.
  • Manage all third-party contractors whilst on site including subcontractors, agency, and maintenance providers.
  • Carry out resource planning for agency drivers.
  • End of day checks, making sure all keys are securely stored.
  • Entering timesheet data onto the Payroll spreadsheet.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Previous experience within a transport / logistics organisation.
  • Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to customer requirements.
  • Effective Customer Service Skills.
  • Ability to take a creative approach to problem solving.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Operational understanding of team roles.
