Transport and Planning Supervisor in Lincoln, Lincolnshire

XPO TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS EUROPE Logistics done differently. We are currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to be based at our site in Stamford, near Peterborough. As part of this busy transport operation, you will ensure the timely and safe dispatch of drivers.

• Representing the Transport Operation in the daily Ops calls (09:00 & 14:45).
• Act as the liaison point between Heidelberg and the XPO Transport Team, becoming a single point of contact for any transport queries.
• Ensure general administration, e.g. filing, queries, claims etc., is handled as per requests from line managers in accordance with company requirements and deadlines.
• Weekly enter Timesheet data onto the Payroll spreadsheet and deal with payroll & pay queries in a timely manner.
• Ensure the training matrix is up to date, including the planning of the training and communications to the driver.
• Carry out resource planning for agency drivers.
• Undertake any relevant training events in line with personal development needs and business requirements, raising training needs and requirements to Local Manager.
• Undertake any other reasonable task as required as directed by the Transport Manager or other XPO Managers.

Previous experience supervising and developing a team within a complex transport environment is essential. Proven experience within transport and a good understanding of compliance and driver hours is required. Candidates should be computer literate as they will be answering emails, dispatching drivers, and compiling a handover every morning. Team building experience is also necessary. Some transport experience dealing with C+E drivers would be beneficial.
