If so, we are looking for a Weighbridge Operator on our British Gypsum contract in East Leake.
A weighbridge operator acts as a key component of the transport function, liaising with drivers and the wider team regularly to ensure the delivery of a first-class service to our customer. A weighbridge operator would ensure the smooth running of the weighbridge facility, acting as the first and last point of contact for all staff and contractors.
Pay, benefits and more:
You will be working 40 hours per week, 4 on 4 off with the ability to cover the 24-hour current operation hours in the event of holiday/sickness. Overtime is available pre-arranged and unsociable hours. We offer 20 days' holiday (plus bank holidays). You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks. £29,457.94 per annum.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Operate the key weighbridge functions including barriers and weighing facilities.
- Ensure all inbound visitors to site have the correct permissions, inductions, and training prior to entering site.
- Carry out inductions and provide site rules and instruction as required.
- Direct visitors to the correct locations and stakeholders onsite.
- Communicate with the yard, warehouse, traffic office and customer as required.
- Utilise multiple IT based systems in the effective delivery of the role including Excel, SAP, XPO IT systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ensure compliance with company health and safety requirements, challenging unsafe behaviours and raising any concerns with line management.
- Ensure good hygiene standards are maintained.
- Conduct relevant QHSE activities: Care Cards, BSafe, Safety Conversations etc.
- Identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrate the Company Values.
- Undertake any other reasonable task as required.
- Always display the highest standards of customer service.
