Transport Operations Manager in Leicester

If so, we are looking for a Transport Operations Manager to join us, on a full time, permanent basis, to be based in Leicester.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Take accountability and responsibility for your site, effectively managing your time to ensure a safe and efficient service.
• As a true people manager, focus on ensuring that your colleagues receive the right level of support, coaching and development.
• Manage the relationship between XPO and our customers, constantly communicating across various stakeholders.
• Ensure that all teams are aligned, operating to XPO standard policies and procedures.
• Support the Contract Manager with adherence to all compliance and legal obligations with a huge emphasis on safety, deputising in their absence.
• Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, keeping the customer updated.
• Working closely with the customer on a day-to-day basis, support with period reviews and customer presentations in the contract manager's absence.
• Provide leadership and guidance for your team to enable them to meet objectives, encouraging open communication.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Ideally, already a Transport Manager or have Transport experience in a 3PL environment, looking for the next step.
• Great People Management and Leadership skills.
• Fantastic stakeholder management skills both internally and externally.
• Commercially minded - understanding and managing the P&L for the site.
• International CPC holder - essential.
• A track record of resolving complex issues and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
