XPO TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS EUROPE
Logistics done differently. We're looking for a Transport Controller (Days) to coordinate daily transport operations within our dedicated team at British Gypsum, Sherburn in Elmet. You will be working Monday to Friday 05:30 to 14:00 and 13:30 to 22:00 on a weekly rotation.

We are looking to offer a salary of up to £29,500 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you'll do on a typical day:
- Coordinate the day-to-day transport operation.
- Brief and debrief drivers at the start and end of their shifts.
- Provide clear and accurate information throughout the day to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor the daily plan and react quickly and effectively to issues and changes as they occur.
- Act as the primary contact for customer service enquiries and notify of any delivery delays or issues.
- Process operational paperwork, including Proof of Delivery (POD) notes, driver timesheets, run sheets etc.
- Liaise with maintenance providers to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner and our fleet remains compliant.
- Ensure all processes and procedures are followed and that we operate a safe and efficient environment.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- The role requires confident decision-making, real-time problem solving, and strong communication skills in person, by phone, and by email.
- It's important you are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; no two days will be the same and we need you to think on your feet.
- You must be computer literate and comfortable using Word, Excel, email and similar programmes.
- You must have a keen eye for detail to ensure that we meet our compliance obligations.
- Previous transport experience is desired but not essential.
