Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We’re looking for a talented Transport Planner to join us on a full-time, permanent basis on our Aylesbury site for Arla. Working a typical Monday to Friday, core working hours, you’ll support the planning activities, allocation of routes, and cost-effective sub-contracting for the site, ensuring our deliveries get out the door in a timely, safe and compliant manner.
Pay, benefits and more: We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30,000. We offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Control outbound plan, ensuring all drivers are scheduled in order to achieve contractual delivery times.
- Achieve weekly and monthly KPIs as set by the business and/or Customer Service.
- Ensure that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to drivers and office staff in relation to the plan.
- Identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrate the Company Values in the undertaking of their role, and always display the highest standards of customer service.
- Undertake any other reasonable task as required.
- Undertake any relevant training events in line with own personal development needs and business requirements.
- General admin duties in line with transport legislation, company policies and procedures including WTD, Tacho master updates.
- Ensure all drivers are within legal parameters and follow tachograph laws.
- Deal with permanent and agency drivers planning.
- Problem solving with any issues or queries regarding the plan and/or with the drivers.
- A strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Competent decision making.
- Manage ASH on a daily basis using WTD calendar and Absence tracker.
- Monitor Agency PVA.
- Create and manage trend reports.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- A good understanding of fast-paced transport teams.
- Excellent communication skills; you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders.
- Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook.
