Here at XPO Logistics, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Front Desk Controller to join our existing team in East Leake (Nottinghamshire) on our British Gypsum contract, on a full time, permanent basis. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday. The role will involve a wide range of transport operational responsibilities and will be required to complete transport reports and administrative tasks. You will be working on the day shift from 11:00 to 19:00.
Pay, benefits and more: We are looking to offer a salary of up to £26,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you will do on a typical day:
- Maintain a high level of system housekeeping and work efficiently to agreed timescales.
- Organise and manage all paperwork and files for auditing purposes.
- Enter all necessary data onto the in-house computer system.
- Communicate with customers via telephone and/or e-mail.
- Share the responsibility for data-entry along with other members of the department.
- Provide support to the Shift Managers and Site Manager as required.
- Complete a track and trace process using the internal systems.
- Carry out the despatch process including preparing despatch notes using the company’s in-house system.
- Prepare all necessary paperwork for a variety of external and internal hauliers.
- Provide an excellent level of service to all internal and external customers.
- Perform other duties which may be reasonably required from time to time by company managers, including delegated duties during the absence of colleagues.
- Be responsible for the POD (proof of delivery) process, ensuring all PODs are processed and managed in line with company procedures and sent to the relevant department.
- Work with the fleet department to ensure defects are logged, servicing schedules are met and fleet issues are escalated as required.
- Challenge drivers on excessive hours/breaks/POA and kilometres.
- Keep accurate records of any tachograph infringements and driving licence checks.
- Carry out general office duties.
- Ensure all vehicles returning to site are checked against the outbound check sheet and any changes to the condition of the vehicle or any concerns raised by the driver are recorded and reported to the Shift Managers (or deputy Shift Managers and Site Manager in their absence).
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the company dress code policy, standards of performance policy and health and safety policy.
- Set up drivers' records for new starters to keep licence information.
