Transport Controller (Days) – British Gypsum, Sherburn in Elmet
Coordinate daily transport operations within a dedicated team. Working Monday to Friday 05:30‑14:00 and 13:30‑22:00 in a weekly rotation.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day
- Coordinate the day‑to‑day transport operation.
- Brief and debrief drivers at shift start and end.
- Provide clear and accurate information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor the daily plan and react quickly to issues and changes.
- Act as primary contact for customer service enquiries and notify of delivery delays.
- Process operational paperwork, including POD notes, driver timesheets and run sheets.
- Liaise with maintenance providers to resolve issues and maintain fleet compliance.
- Ensure all processes and procedures are followed to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
What You Need To Succeed
- Confident decision‑making, real‑time problem solving and strong communication skills across person, phone and email.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and thinking on your feet.
- Computer literate and comfortable with Word, Excel, email and similar programmes.
- Keen eye for detail to meet compliance obligations.
- Previous transport experience desirable but not essential.
