Do you have experience selling transport, forwarding, or FTL solutions and enjoy building strong customer relationships? If so, we’re looking for an Account Executive to join our growing Forwarding Europe business and help drive export growth across the UK.

Working as part of our Fareham‑based operation, you’ll play a key role in developing new business opportunities for cross‑border transport solutions between the UK and mainland Europe. This is a hunter‑focused role, ideal for someone with a passion for sales, commercial growth, and delivering results.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £45,000 per annum, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), and the option to buy additional days. What You’ll Do On a Typical Day

  • Identify, target and win new UK‑based customers with export transport requirements
  • Develop and execute a structured business development strategy focused on UK‑to‑Europe FTL transport flows
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline aligned to business growth objectives
  • Prospect, qualify, negotiate and onboard new customers
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract award
  • Understand customer supply chains and develop tailored transport solutions
  • Promote XPO’s cross‑border FTL transport services across Europe
  • Support customer tenders, RFQs and commercial proposals
  • Build long‑term relationships with key stakeholders including procurement, logistics and supply chain decision-makers
  • Work closely with UK operational teams, European transport teams, pricing and procurement functions
  • Ensure successful implementation and onboarding of new business opportunities
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities

What You Need To Succeed At XPO

  • Proven experience within transport sales, freight forwarding, brokerage or FTL logistics
  • Strong knowledge of UK export logistics and European transport networks
  • Demonstrable success in a business development or hunter sales role
  • Experience managing RFQs, tenders and commercial negotiations
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent relationship‑building and networking capabilities
  • Commercially focused with a passion for delivering profitable growth
  • Self‑motivated, proactive and results‑driven
  • Ability to work within a fast‑paced international and matrix environment
  • Willingness to travel across the UK to meet customers and develop new business opportunities
