We’re looking for a talented PM Shift Transport Supervisor to join us at our East Leake site on our British Gypsum contract.

Reporting to the PM Shift Manager, you’ll oversee the PM transport operation, ensuring customer requirements are met, service levels remain high and all activity is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with company policies.
You’ll support the Site Manager and Shift Manager in developing processes, managing the team and driving continuous improvement.

- What You’ll Do On a Typical Day
- Oversee the PM shift transport operation, ensuring customer service levels and operational requirements are consistently achieved
- Manage and support Debrief Clerks, shunters and drivers, ensuring performance, conduct and behaviours meet company standards
- Plan and organise staff shifts to ensure all runs are covered in a cost‑effective and efficient manner
- Liaise with Customer Services and the Planning Team to resolve service issues and operational needs
- Update Time & Attendance systems and respond to related queries
- Raise purchase orders for defects and manage any associated queries
- Produce daily reports on equipment failures, VORs, service levels and ongoing issues
- Maintain accurate customer reports and ensure deadlines are met
- Work with the business to plan vehicle availability and maximise utilisation
- Identify training needs through performance reviews and support development plans
- Ensure legal compliance including tacho collection, driver hours, WTD and transport legislation
- Conduct licence checks and ensure only competent, authorised individuals operate LGV vehicles
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and Health & Safety procedures
- Manage return‑to‑work interviews, investigations and disciplinary processes with support from the Shift Manager
- Facilitate effective shift handovers
- Ensure adequate cover during peak periods, holidays, sickness or absence
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required
Essential

- Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams
- Ability to take responsibility, make decisions and lead by example
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships
- A collaborative approach, encouraging teamwork and effective communication
Desirable
- Experience supervising or managing a team in a transport or manufacturing environment
- Experience improving employee engagement
- Experience working in a Trade Union environment
- Understanding of change management practices
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast‑moving operation
- CPC in National Road Haulage
- Working knowledge of transport legislation, WTD and driver hours
