We’re currently recruiting for a Site Manager to head up our shared-user transport operations in Taunton. You’ll be responsible for the operational and financial performance of the site, taking ownership of vehicles and staff as we provide a seamless service to the network and our customers. We operate the site with a mixed fleet of 18 vehicles and a team of around 36 people across the 24/5 operation.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £55,000 per annum, a monthly car allowance and bonus. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day
- Oversee the successful implementation of the contract and supporting functions, ensuring regular customer updates on progress and delivery.
- Develop and identify KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives for the contract to ensure high productivity and return.
- Lead regular health and safety and compliance meetings to ensure that all vehicles and equipment are in line with regulations and are safe to operate.
- Build and develop an effective management team for long term success.

- Experience managing a transport & warehouse contract within a closed book environment or general haulage.
- An effective understanding of budgets and P&L.
- The ability to communicate effectively with all customers and stakeholders.
