If you are physically fit and seeking a new challenge, we are looking for someone like you to join our team working on the British Gypsum contract in Gotham as a Yard Marshall.
Overview
The main purpose of the weighbridge operator is to ensure the smooth operation of the facility, acting as the first and last point of contact for all staff and contractors. The operator will be responsible for ensuring that all legal and contractual obligations are met, including site inductions completed. The Yard Marshall acts as a key component of the transport function, liaising with them regularly to ensure the delivery of a first-class service to our customer. You will be working a 4 on/4 off shift pattern between day and night. We’re offering a salary of £29,856 plus overtime at an enhanced rate. We offer 20 days' holiday. Responsibilities
- Comply with all legislative requirements, company policies and procedures and customer-specific requirements.
- Ensure that all personnel entering site have been inducted using the rapid induct system.
- Check that only authorised vehicles and people enter onto the site.
- Ensure that all vehicles that enter and exit site are logged.
- Issue site rules to all drivers.
- Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Understand and comply with all relevant Company rules, agreements, policies, procedures and with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice.
- Ensure Company business is treated in the strictest confidence and not disclosed to persons outside the Company.
- Act in a professional manner, ensure good working relationships are maintained and promote a good image of the Company at all times.
- Where appropriate, challenge and determine reasons for presence on site of any unauthorised person.
Requirements
- Previous experience of working in a logistics environment preferred but not essential; full training will be given.
