We’re looking for a talented Transport Planning Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis at our Worksop site. Working Monday to Friday.
As a Planning Manager you will be the escalation contact point for the operational and planning teams as well as the haulier partners. You will be responsible for managing the transport planners day to day and delivering an end-to-end transport plan, ensuring that safety, service, and savings targets are adhered to. Working with a team ethos to ensure an excellent and valued service is provided to all customers, whilst gaining trust and respectful business relationships.

We’re looking to offer a salary up to £40,000 depending on experience. We also offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.
What You’ll Do On a Typical Day
- Monitoring compliance to legislative and Standard Operating Procedures, initiating corrective actions and process improvement where appropriate.
- Analyse agreed KPI information to ensure optimal efficiency & performance.
- Work closely as part of the management team to ensure operational plans are developed and implemented in line with business objectives.
- Developing & managing real relationships with customers and hauliers at all levels.
- Managing relationships effectively to ensure productive working relationships within the wider contract, with customers and with Hauliers.
- Identifying & developing key individuals for the future.
- Deputise for any planners in their absence.
- Work closely with planning team to support network as needed.
- Liaise with site teams to ensure plan is executed correctly.
- Attend daily operational call to discuss any issues arising.
What You Need To Succeed At XPO
- Experience of transport planning in a 3PL environment is desirable.
- Good working knowledge of UK Geography.
- Experience in using transport planning software.
- Successful track record in communication and building relationships with customers.
- Transport planning knowledge of drivers hours.
- Experience of Paragon or similar.
