Do you like the sound of working on a large, complex operation with one of the biggest names in logistics? Are you ready for your next challenge? We’re looking to bring in a talented Warehouse Shift Manager for our warehouse in Gotham for our customer British Gypsum / Saint Gobain.

You will be responsible for FLT drivers, picking and loading from our distribution warehouse. As Shift Manager, you will oversee a team of operatives and motivate them to do their job efficiently. You will provide daily objectives and ensure that your team meet the requirements of our stakeholders. Using effective communication, you will raise any issues with senior management to reach business goals effectively. This role is working Monday - Friday with rotating shifts 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm.

We’re looking to offer a salary up to £38,000 plus shift allowance. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What You’ll Do On a Typical Day

  • Supervision and overseeing of the operation, ensuring all goods are put away and loaded for delivery.
  • Managing customer relationships, both indirectly and face to face on site.
  • Driving on-site loading efficiency and looking at ways we can improve.
  • Lead, manage and engage your team to get the best out of the shift.
  • Ensure colleagues follow all site rules relevant to their working area.
  • Drive a safety culture including reporting and record any Hazards / Near Misses / Spillages together with any Incidents / accidents according to company reporting requirements.
  • Managing your team members including payroll, performance management and recruitment.
  • Inventory management utilising systems including SAP.

What You Need To Succeed At XPO

  • A track record at a supervisory or management level within a fast‑paced warehouse operation.
  • A strong personality with the ability to effectively manage, push for operational excellence and challenge the status quo.
  • A focus on health and safety – ideally with a recognised qualification (IOSH / NEBOSH/ Continuous Improvement).
  • MHE Awareness or Instructor.
  • Experience within stock and quality would be beneficial and utilisation of computerised systems.
  • Stakeholder management and effective communication skills both verbal and written at all levels.
  • Forklift licence - ideally counter balance.
