Logistics done differently. Are you an HGV driver looking for a new challenge? Do you have a passion for driving and training? We are looking for a driver trainer to join us on our British Gypsum site in Sherburn in Elmet working Monday to Friday on days, although a degree of flexibility may be required.

Your time will be split between normal driving duties making deliveries to customers, and supporting our Operational Trainer to ensure that the contract’s training requirements are met. This includes conducting driving assessments, inductions, training of new starters and retraining of current employees.

In return for your hard work, we will offer you a competitive hourly rate of £16.59 plus £25 per week trainer’s bonus (an additional £1300 per year); 25 days holiday plus bank holidays; comprehensive training to succeed; and the opportunity to progress within a rapidly growing company.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day

  • Make deliveries to British Gypsum’s customers on behalf of XPO Logistics.
  • Adhere to all Site Rules and safety requirements.
  • Assist our Operational Trainer and Management team to conduct training and maintain compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of training.

What You Need To Succeed At XPO

  • Have a full UK driving licence (with C+E entitlement) with at least 6 months of HGV driving experience.
  • Have no more than six penalty points on your licence and no DD, DR, IN, or CD endorsements.
  • Hold a valid CPC and Digital Tacho card.
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK road network and HGV operations.
  • A positive attitude to work and safety.
