Are you an HGV driver looking for a new challenge? Do you have a passion for driving and training? We are looking for a driver trainer to join us on our Kingspan contract at Pembridge. You will work Monday to Friday on days, with occasional overnight stays and travel to other sites.
Your time will be split between making deliveries to customers and supporting our Operational Trainer to ensure that the contract’s training requirements are met. This includes conducting driving assessments, inductions, training of new starters and retraining of current employees. In return for your hard work, we will offer you a competitive annual salary of £36,508 per year, 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, comprehensive training to succeed, and the opportunity to progress within a rapidly growing company.
Typical Responsibilities
- Deliver training to new employees and agency staff using company-approved documentation; conduct driving assessments.
- Facilitate Driver CPC courses.
- Deliver inductions for new employees.
- Provide refresher and skills update training for permanent employees as required.
- Prepare, review and update training documentation.
- Ensure all training is delivered in line with company standards.
- Liaise with line managers regarding training plans, candidate progress and results.
- Assist in planning training sessions and communicating these to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate training records electronically and securely file written records.
- Demonstrate flexibility with working hours and work patterns.
Required Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence (C+E entitlement) with at least 6 months of HGV driving experience.
- No more than six penalty points on your licence and no DD, DR, IN, or CD endorsements.
- Valid CPC and Digital Tacho card.
- Excellent knowledge of the UK road network and HGV operations.
- Positive attitude to work and safety.
Beneficial but Not Essential
- Previous training experience.
- Any safety related qualifications.
- FLT operator and/or training experience.
