A global organisation is seeking a highly experienced Cloud Print Engineer with strong technical expertise in Microsoft Universal Print, PaperCut MF/Hive, enterprise print Servers, PowerShell automation, and Graph API integrations. This role is fully hands-on and focuses on technical discovery, design, configuration, optimisation, and migration of large-scale print environments into a modern cloud-first architecture.
Key Technical Responsibilities
- Conduct deep technical discovery of print Servers, drivers, queues, naming conventions, protocols (IPP/PCL/PS), and device capabilities.
- Design and implement cloud-first print solutions using Universal Print and PaperCut MF/Hive.
- Configure Universal Print connectors, identity-based printing, secure print release, and hybrid print workflows.
- Automate print migrations and configuration tasks using PowerShell, Graph API, and PaperCut APIs.
- Assess device compatibility, firmware baselines, and upgrade requirements across HP, Canon, Ricoh, Xerox.
- Analyse network readiness (VLANs, routing, QoS, segmentation) for cloud printing performance.
- Produce HLD/LLD designs, configuration documentation, and migration runbooks.
- Implement secure print standards aligned to Zero Trust, GDPR, and modern authentication (Entra ID/SSO).
- Build dashboards/monitoring for connector health, print utilisation, error rates, and performance metrics.
- Troubleshoot complex print issues across Windows, macOS, network devices, and authentication platforms.
Essential Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Universal Print and connector configuration.
- Expertise with PaperCut MF and/or PaperCut Hive.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise print management: print Servers, drivers (Type 3/4), protocols, PDLs.
- Advanced PowerShell Scripting and REST/API integration capability.
- Experience troubleshooting print workflows across Windows and macOS.
- Solid networking knowledge (DNS, VLANs, routing, QoS, segmentation).
- Strong understanding of identity-based printing (Entra ID, SSO, card/PIN release).
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft certifications (Universal Print/Endpoint Admin/Identity/Azure Admin).
- PaperCut Certified Professional.
- HP/Canon/Ricoh/Xerox technical certifications.
- ITIL Foundation.
