We are thrilled to be recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer on behalf of our client, an innovative and ambitious company making strides in the automotive sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technical/application support engineer to join a fast-growing business at an exciting time, and join their internal development team.
The Role
As a Technical Support Engineer, you'll be providing application support, investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving issues, and working alongside developers, stakeholders, and users across the business. This role offers the perfect opportunity for someone technically minded to grow within a small, impactful product team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitor and respond to support requests and system alerts.
- Create and maintain SOPs and a support knowledge base.
- Identify opportunities to reduce support volumes and improve user experience.
- Learn and apply 2nd-line troubleshooting techniques.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have 1+ year in a technical support or helpdesk role, and experience supporting users of web-based applications. You should have excellent communication skills, a strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively, and be quick to learn new systems.
Experience in application testing, PHP scripting (or other coding experience) is highly desirable, alongside the ability to read and interpret application logs, and SQL/database querying (MySQL or MariaDB).
