We are seeking an experienced Systems Data Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping how business systems and data work together across a complex and evolving technology landscape. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys getting under the skin of existing systems, uncovering how they truly operate, and designing practical future-state architectures that deliver real business value.
Joining a growing and ambitious organisation, you will work closely with both Process and Development teams, acting as the bridge between business requirements and technical implementation. This is a hands-on architecture role focused on investigation, design, integration, and delivery rather than reporting or governance.
A leading technology-led organisation with a reputation for innovation and continual improvement, this business operates within a fast-paced environment where growth, transformation, and operational excellence are at the heart of everything they do. Teams are empowered to challenge ideas, take ownership, and make a genuine impact.
Why Join?

- Work within a high-performing, growth-focused environment
- Significant influence over technical direction and design decisions
- Strong package including private medical cover, enhanced pension, income protection and family-friendly benefits
Responsibilities
- Reverse-engineer existing and legacy systems to understand data flows, business rules, integrations, and system behaviour
- Investigate databases, SQL queries, stored procedures, APIs, interfaces, and application code to establish current-state architecture
- Map end-to-end data flows, identifying dependencies, duplication, ownership, and systems of record
- Design future-state data architecture, logical data models, integrations, and system interactions
- Define data structures, interfaces, and integration approaches across multiple platforms
- Produce detailed technical designs and provide clear guidance to development teams
- Work closely with business stakeholders, process teams, and developers to translate requirements into scalable solutions
- Support implementation, testing, and delivery while maintaining architecture documentation and design artefacts
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in Data Architecture, Systems Architecture, or a closely related architecture role
- Proven experience reverse-engineering legacy and existing systems
- Strong hands-on SQL and relational database expertise
- Ability to investigate and interpret application code, stored procedures, interfaces, and integrations
- Experience tracing end-to-end data flows and identifying business rules and dependencies
- Demonstrated experience designing systems data architecture and integration solutions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Experience supporting system transformations, integrations, or acquisitions
- Exposure to complex enterprise application landscapes
- Experience reviewing and validating technical implementations against architectural designs
