We are supporting a client within the aviation sector who is seeking a Senior Data Science Consultant to contribute to the development and enhancement of modelling and optimisation capabilities. This is a technically focused role centred on building, maintaining, and improving a suite of models that support core business decision-making. The work will involve a combination of machine learning and optimisation, with a strong emphasis on delivering practical, production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain data science models used in business-critical decision-making
  • Work across a mix of machine learning approaches and optimisation algorithms
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, robust technical solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritise what should be built and when
  • Improve performance and reliability of existing models and modelling frameworks
  • Contribute to shaping a forward roadmap for modelling and decision science capabilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience in applied data science within a commercial environment
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience working with optimisation techniques or decision science models
  • Track record of building and maintaining production-level models
  • Ability to operate in a hands-on, technical capacity while contributing to prioritisation and planning
  • Comfortable working in evolving or imperfect data environments
  • Experience within the airline or aviation sector
  • Exposure to network planning, scheduling, or route optimisation
  • Background working with or alongside platforms such as Amadeus, Sabre, OAG, PROS, or Accelya
