I'm looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a digital-first organisation operating high-volume ecommerce and customer-facing platforms. This role sits within a Digital Operations environment and focuses on production stability, reliability, and operational excellence, rather than pure greenfield build work. You'll play a key role in keeping live platforms running smoothly, monitoring systems, resolving incidents, and working closely with development teams to prevent issues before they impact customers. It's a hands-on role for someone who enjoys ownership, investigation, and improving how things run day to day.
Responsibilities
- Own monitoring and support of production environments across ecommerce and digital platforms
- Manage production SSL certificates, encryption keys, and CDN services (e.g. Cloudflare or Akamai)
- Proactively monitor logs and performance metrics, identifying issues before they escalate
- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and raise clear actions into development backlogs
- Work closely with development teams to resolve incidents and improve platform reliability
- Support daily order processing systems, resolving failures or anomalies that affect customer experience
- Run and contribute to post-incident reviews, feeding improvements back into operations
- Support and contribute to automation across monitoring, alerting, and deployment
- Help embed DevOps best practice and continuous improvement across the team
Experience / What you bring
- Hands-on experience in a DevOps, operations, or platform support role
- Strong understanding of production monitoring, log analysis, and incident management
- Experience managing SSL certificates, key rotation, and production security controls
- Background supporting ecommerce or high-availability digital platforms
- Familiarity with ticketing/backlog tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
- Experience working with CDN platforms such as Cloudflare or Akamai
- Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication when handling incidents
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Scripting or automation experience (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Knowledge of containerisation (Docker and/or Kubernetes)
