Test Engineering Manager in Kettering

We\’re recruiting for a Test Engineering Manager for a newly formed Engineering team within a niche financial services organisation. This is a high-impact role where you\’ll own the end-to-end test automation suite and play a key part in delivering a complex technology transformation.

You\’ll combine hands-on test automation development with strategic leadership, shaping the overall test strategy and driving a quality-first culture across the organisation.

What You\’ll Do

• Lead all testing activities for projects, transformations, and BAU.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for SaaS products, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Influence tool selection and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform functional and non-functional testing (performance, security, integration).
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product teams to define quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and \”shift-left\” testing practices.

What We\’re Looking For

• Proven experience in test leadership and management, including process improvements.
• Hands-on experience developing automated test frameworks for APIs and backend services.
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Xray, Playwright, Pytest, Pywinauto.
• Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, data validation, and CI/CD integration (GitHub).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (GCP preferred).
• Understanding of security and performance testing methodologies.
• Bonus: Exposure to machine learning pipelines and testing data models.

Location: West Midlands (onsite once a week)

Salary: £50k-£55k + Benefits
