Remote (EU only) | Long term contract 18 months | Competitive day rates

We are looking for a Principal Product Data Scientist to join a team developing predictive maintenance products and advanced machine learning solutions for a FTSE 100 organisation. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who combines strong machine learning expertise with excellent software engineering practices and a product-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing and deploying machine learning models
  • Translating business challenges into robust modelling approaches
  • Working across the full data science lifecycle, from discovery through to deployment
  • Maintaining high standards of code quality and engineering practice
  • Reviewing code and contributing to collaborative development processes
  • Explaining complex results and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences

Qualifications

  • Extensive commercial experience in machine learning and predictive modelling
  • Strong software engineering capability, ideally in Python
  • Experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production
  • Deep understanding of modern machine learning techniques and their underlying principles
  • Ability to work independently and lead complex initiatives
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Predictive maintenance experience
  • MLOps and model deployment experience
  • Cloud-based machine learning platforms
  • Experience building customer-facing or product-focused solutions
