This is a 12-month initial contract, operating Inside IR35 via an umbrella company. Candidates must be comfortable using their own device (BYOD) and attending workshops and stakeholder meetings in London between one and four times per month.
The Role
Data Product Architect / Lead Data Architect
circa £850/day Inside IR35 | 12-Month Initial Contract | London (1-4 Days Per Month)

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Data Architect with a strong background in modern data platforms, Data Mesh principles, and cloud-based analytics environments.
This is a 12-month initial contract, operating Inside IR35 via an umbrella company. Candidates must be comfortable using their own device (BYOD) and attending workshops and stakeholder meetings in London between one and four times per month.
The Role
You will play a key role in shaping and delivering a modern data architecture strategy across a large-scale retail and eCommerce environment. Working closely with engineering teams, product leaders, architects, and senior stakeholders, you’ll drive best practices around Data Products, Data Mesh adoption, governance, and self-service data platforms.
This is a hands-on architecture role where you’ll be expected to influence strategic direction whilst also diving into technical detail, reviewing code, and developing proof-of-concepts where required.
Essential Experience
- Strong experience within retail and/or eCommerce environments
- Proven background designing modern data architectures and operating models
- Deep understanding of:
- Data Mesh
- Data Products
- Data Contracts
- Data Modelling
- Experience defining and implementing self-service data platforms
- Strong understanding of computational governance, data governance, and access management
- Solid knowledge of GDPR and principle of least privilege approaches
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, from engineers through to enterprise architects and executive leadership
- Experience facilitating workshops and driving cross-functional collaboration
- Comfortable reviewing code and producing lightweight PoCs when required
