A genuinely hands-on security engineering role for someone who enjoys solving real security problems rather than sitting in a purely process-driven environment. This position sits closely with the Head of Information Security and covers a broad mix of security engineering, operational security and continuous improvement work across cloud and on-prem infrastructure. The environment has enough complexity and ownership to keep things interesting, whilst still being close enough to the business to make a visible impact.
You’ll be involved in everything from investigating live security events and improving tooling, through to vulnerability remediation, security hardening and helping shape how security best practice is implemented across the wider technology estate.
What you'll be working across:
- Security tooling including EDR, SIEM, WAF and NGFW technologies
- Investigation and response to security incidents alongside a Managed SOC
- Vulnerability identification and remediation
- Cloud, infrastructure and network security
- Security compliance and controls across ISO27001, PCI DSS and Cyber Essentials
- Automation and scripting using PowerShell or Python
- Continuous improvement of operational security processes and standards
This role will suit someone coming from a Cyber Security Engineering, Infrastructure Security or Security Operations background who enjoys ownership, variety and being technically involved rather than heavily siloed. Strong opportunity to join a business continuing to invest in its security capability, with exposure across both operational and engineering-focused security work.
