Xpert Recruitment Solutions is currently recruiting for experienced MIG Welders to join a leading UK manufacturer of aftermarket automotive emissions components based in Cheadle, Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent position with excellent earning potential and long-term career prospects.

Your Role

You will be responsible for welding and assembling automotive exhaust and emissions components using MIG welding techniques. The role involves working with light gauge steel (1.5mm-2mm thickness) and producing high-quality welds that meet strict design and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on exhaust components to precise specifications
  • Assemble exhaust systems from individual fabricated parts
  • Inspect weld joints and finished products to ensure quality standards are met
  • Make adjustments and corrections where necessary
  • Maintain and clean welding equipment
  • Work collaboratively with team members across production
  • Follow all health safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a MIG Welder
  • Experience welding light gauge steel (1.5mm-2mm)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Competent in operating MIG welding equipment
  • High attention to detail and quality standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or automotive environments preferred

Hours of Work

Weekly rotating shift pattern (37.5 hours per week) + Overtime

Week 1: Monday - Thursday: 06:00 - 14:00, Friday: 06:00 - 12:30

Week 2: Monday - Thursday: 14:00 - 22:30, Friday: 12:30 - 17:00
