Xpert Recruitment are working on behalf of a growing electrical and building services contractor who are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Installation Testing Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a competent and motivated engineer who wants to play a key role in developing and shaping a newly expanding Electrical Testing Department from the ground up.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical inspection and testing across a range of commercial and industrial projects, ensuring installations are tested, certified, and completed in line with current regulations, client requirements, and industry standards.
Duties will include:
- Carrying out initial verification, periodic inspection, and electrical testing.
- Completing Electrical Installation Certificates, Minor Works Certificates, and Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
- Testing and inspecting single-phase and three-phase installations.
- Identifying defects, non-compliances, and remedial works.
- Producing accurate test results and certification documentation.
- Liaising with project managers, site teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Supporting the ongoing development of the Electrical Testing Department.
- Maintaining high standards of compliance, safety, and workmanship.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in electrical inspection and testing.
- Strong knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
- City & Guilds /2395, or equivalent inspection and testing qualification.
- 18th Edition qualification.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- ECS/JIB Gold Card preferred.
- Experience completing NICEIC-style certification and test documentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
