As a Visa & Mastercard Specialist, you will act as the key liaison between xpate and the card schemes, supporting operational, compliance, and reporting activities across our card business. You will be responsible for monitoring scheme requirements, coordinating responses to network requests, maintaining critical internal documentation, and ensuring that the organization stays informed and compliant with evolving Visa and Mastercard regulations.
Your role at xpate:
- Monitor and interpret Visa and Mastercard bulletins, mandates, rule changes and operational updates.
- Assess the impact of scheme changes and coordinate implementation with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit mandatory reports to Visa and Mastercard, including compliance, PCI DSS, quarterly, and other scheme-related reports.
- Coordinate and manage responses to requests, enquiries, and investigations from card schemes.
- Maintain internal registers, trackers, and operational records, ensuring that information remains accurate and up to date.
- Own and maintain internal knowledge bases and documentation, including Confluence pages and process documentation.
- Support internal teams with scheme-related guidance and best practices.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, Compliance, Finance, Risk and Engineering teams to ensure alignment with scheme requirements.
- Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives within the card business.

- At least 1 year’s experience in card payments, card acquiring, payment operations, or a similar payments environment.
- Good understanding of the Visa and Mastercard ecosystems, products, and operational processes.
- Familiarity with scheme rules, compliance requirements, and reporting obligations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and interpret complex operational matters.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using Confluence, Jira, or similar documentation and collaboration tools would be advantageous.
