You’ll work hands-on with transaction data, monitoring rules, and early risk signals — helping prevent losses, protect our platform, and support sustainable merchant growth.

Your role at xpate:

  • Monitor and manage merchant fraud risks across products, payment methods, and transaction flows.
  • Act as the key user and owner of the internal monitoring tool, including configuration, tuning, and optimisation of monitoring rules.
  • Detect, assess, and escalate early warning signals related to merchant fraud, including abnormal transaction patterns, behavioural changes, and limit breaches.
  • Support AML alert oversight, assisting with identification of unusual or deviating client behaviour and escalation where required.
  • Analyse fraud- and AML-related data, trends, and patterns across the merchant portfolio.
  • Prepare fraud monitoring insights and basic reporting, including KPIs, KRIs, and dashboards.
  • Work closely with Client Managers, Compliance, Risk, and other internal teams to support investigations and merchant communication.
  • Contribute to process improvements, including enhancement of monitoring logic, workflows, and internal tooling.

We’re ready to meet you, if…

  • You have proven experience in fraud prevention within acquiring or PSP services (mandatory).
  • You have experience working with Visa and Mastercard, including scheme monitoring programs.
  • You have a strong understanding of merchant fraud risks, transaction patterns, and rule-based monitoring approaches.
  • You’ve worked hands-on with fraud or transaction monitoring tools and understand how to optimise them.
  • You have a basic understanding of AML concepts and are willing to develop deeper AML monitoring expertise.
  • Experience with dashboards, BI tools, or SQL-based reporting is a strong plus.
  • You’re analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large volumes of transaction data.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally in English.

What working at xpate looks like:

  • You’ll be part of a team that takes risk seriously but practically.

  • A competitive salary, based on your experience and expertise.
  • Tools & flexibility to succeed.
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid work options.
  • Private health insurance and paid time off.
  • Top-of-the-line Apple equipment to support your work.

  • End-to-end ownership of your cases and processes.
  • Direct impact on merchant experience and risk outcomes.
  • A collaborative culture where improvements are encouraged and growth is supported.
