Opportunity
This is a rare, genuinely greenfield opportunity to build a marketing function from the ground up at one of the UK's most credible and operationally grounded cybersecurity consultancies. Founded in 2019 and built on a foundation of military intelligence, law enforcement and national security expertise, this business has earned a reputation as a trusted, differentiated operator in a crowded market. Following a significant investment from a leading UK private equity firm, the company is entering its most ambitious growth phase to date – currently growing at 45‑50% year‑on‑year, with a clear strategic ambition to more than triple in size organically over the next five years. The business is also acquisitive, with a healthy pipeline of opportunities already in motion.
Core capabilities span Managed Detection & Response (MDR) – a fully UK‑sovereign, threat‑led 24/7 service and the primary growth engine of the business – alongside Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI), Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR), Managed XDR, Hybrid SOC, and Threat Hunting. The business holds NCSC assurance, CREST accreditation, FIRST membership, and ISO 27001/9001 and IASME Gold certifications, with a 100% in‑house, UK‑based SOC and deep government credentials.
As the company's first‑ever Head of Marketing, you will define the strategy, build the team, and establish the processes that put this brand firmly on the map – expanding its reach beyond its established public‑sector base into private‑sector critical infrastructure and highly regulated markets. This role sits at the intersection of brand, channel and sales. It is ideal for a commercially minded marketer who is as comfortable crafting a brand narrative as they are sitting in a pipeline review with the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand & Market Visibility
- Define and lead the company's brand strategy, ensuring a consistent and compelling identity across all channels and touchpoints.
- Drive brand awareness campaigns that increase market visibility and position the business as a credible sector leader.
- Own all external communications, including website, content marketing, PR, social media and thought leadership.
- Develop a content and communications calendar that keeps the business front‑of‑mind with target audiences.
- Track and report on brand health metrics, share of voice and market perception.
- Channel Partner & Channel Manager Enablement
- Build and maintain a partner marketing programme that supports channel managers and partners in generating pipeline and closing revenue.
- Develop co‑marketing campaigns, partner toolkits and sales collateral that make it easy for partners to sell the company's solutions.
- Work closely with channel managers to understand partner needs and translate them into effective marketing support.
- Create demand generation campaigns targeted at partner networks and end customers within those channels.
- Measure partner marketing contribution to pipeline and revenue, reporting regularly to senior leadership.
- Account‑Based Marketing (ABM) & Sales Enablement
- Design and execute a robust ABM programme targeting key accounts across the full sales cycle, from awareness through to close.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to identify target accounts, align on messaging and develop personalised campaigns.
- Produce high‑quality sales enablement materials, including case studies, battle cards, presentation decks, product sheets and proposal templates.
- Support sales with timely, relevant content and campaigns that accelerate deals and reduce sales cycle length.
- Implement and manage marketing automation and CRM integration to ensure seamless lead handover and pipeline visibility.
- Marketing Operations & Leadership
- Build the marketing function from scratch – defining team structure, hiring, and establishing processes, tools and ways of working.
- Set and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation and measurable ROI.
- Define KPIs and establish a reporting framework that tracks marketing's contribution to pipeline, revenue and brand equity.
- Evaluate and implement the marketing technology stack (CRM, automation, analytics, ABM platforms).
What We're Looking For
- A proven track record in a senior B2B marketing role, with experience owning brand, demand generation and sales enablement.
- Hands‑on experience building or scaling a marketing function – you've done this before, not just managed a mature team.
- Strong ABM experience with demonstrable impact on pipeline and revenue growth.
- Experience working with and supporting channel partners, resellers or a wider partner ecosystem.
- A data‑driven approach, comfortable with marketing analytics, attribution modelling and ROI reporting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong instinct for messaging and positioning.
This role has one absolute requirement: you must come from a cybersecurity background – ideally with direct experience marketing CTI, MDR, SOC or related managed security services. An understanding of how these solutions are bought, who buys them and how trust is built in this market is essential.
Rates depend on experience and client requirements.
