We are seeking professional and reliable LGV Class 2 Refuse Drivers to join our collections teams in Kettering area. Successful candidates will be driving an LGV Class 2 Refuse vehicle and support the other members of the team collecting binned household waste from homes in the East Northamptonshire area. With a 6 am start and an early pm finish, the hours are fixed at 37 per week. Double time is payable on Bank Holidays. You must be physically fit and able to work as part of a team. Good interpersonal skills are important as from time to time you may well be interacting with the public.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate LGV Class 2 Refuse vehicle
  • Ensure all collections are completed accurately and on schedule, adhering to route plans and schedules.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations.
  • Communicate effectively with the depot regarding collection times and any unforeseen delays.
  • Occasionally assist with loading when necessary, ensuring proper handling techniques are used.

Requirements

  • Valid LGV 2 licence with a maximum of 6 points
  • No previous experience is required but references covering previous work is essential
  • Excellent driving skills with attention to detail as driving in residential areas
  • Ability to operate vehicles safely under various road conditions.
  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with depot and team members.
  • Physical fitness to handle loading tasks when required.
  • A commitment to safety standards and adherence to all legal regulations related to commercial driving.
