Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the electrical design, development, and delivery of switch-mode power supplies used within Industrial, Healthcare, and Technology applications.
Responsibilities:- The electrical design for all sections of high-performance switch mode power supplies for Industrial, Healthcare, and Technology applications.
- The development and optimization of performance to meet target specifications within cost and project plan milestone dates.
- The delivery of high integrity design for mass production, ensuring ease of manufacture, field reliability over the product design lifetime, and ease of customer integration.
- Accountability for project delivery and mentoring of Level 1 Electrical Power Supply Design Engineers.
- 5+ years’ experience in AC-DC switch-mode power supply design from conception to production.
- Design responsibilities include working in an R&D team of electrical, mechanical, manufacturing engineers, and technicians on delivering product design in line with XP Core Values.
- Providing technical expertise in new basic product design and modification of existing products.
- Specification and compliance of designs for the product lifecycle.
- Component part selection considering obsolescence, availability, and cost.
- Input to continuous improvement of the production process.
- Ensuring consistency in design reviews, verification, and qualification efforts.
- Keeping up to date with new technology applicable to our industry and collaborating with other design colleagues.
- Fostering creativity and innovation in design solutions.
- Reviewing and creating engineering and associated documentation.
- Ensuring completeness of all documentation to assure smooth transition from product design and testing into manufacturing.
- Active participation in the delivery of project milestones/deliverables.
- Reporting on electrical design status on the assigned tasks as required.
- Providing answers to all queries relating to the design.
- Liaising with other XP departments to ensure that the required information is available when needed and customer requests are dealt with in a timely manner.
Other duties may be assigned.
Key Qualifications and Skills:- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering/Power Electronics or equivalent experience.
- Proven knowledge of different topologies.
- Proven knowledge of EMC, thermals, magnetic design, analogue, and some digital design.
