About the Role
XOYO London is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and highly skilled Club Technical Manager to oversee the operation, maintenance, and development of all technical production systems within the venue. This role is responsible for managing the venue's audio, lighting, video, networking, and special effects systems while ensuring the highest standards of event delivery, technical reliability, and health & safety compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining XOYO's reputation as one of London's leading music venues.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Operations & Maintenance
- Operate and maintain all venue audio, lighting, video, and production systems during events.
- Ensure all technical equipment is functioning correctly and maintained to a high standard.
- Carry out planned maintenance schedules and routine inspections.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report faults or defects to management.
- Maintain an up-to-date technical specification for all venue equipment.
- Ensure the venue remains visually presentable, operational, and event-ready at all times.
- Deliver exceptional production standards to support client, artist, and customer satisfaction.
- Event Delivery & Production Management
- Liaise with venue management, promoters, artists, and clients regarding technical advances and event requirements.
- Support the planning and delivery of all events within the venue.
- Attend client meetings and site visits where required.
- Participate in weekly operations and planning meetings with venue management.
- Coordinate outsourced production requirements when necessary.
- Contractor Management
- Recruit, train, induct, and manage freelance technicians and subcontractors.
- Ensure all subcontractors are suitably qualified and compliant with venue standards.
- Schedule and manage contractor rotas.
- Monitor and provide feedback on subcontractor performance.
- Health & Safety
- Maintain a safe working environment for staff, artists, contractors, and customers.
- Conduct regular checks of all safety-critical equipment.
- Complete weekly equipment and maintenance reports.
- Ensure unsafe equipment is immediately removed from service.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant health & safety regulations and best practices.
Skills & Experience Required
- Essential
- Previous leadership or management experience within a live events, nightclub, venue, or production environment.
- Strong experience working within technical production teams.
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Allen & Heath audio systems
- ChamSys lighting systems
- Resolume Arena
- Network infrastructure and AV networking
- Strong understanding of video systems and media servers.
- Good working knowledge of Pyrotechnics and Special Effects (SFX).
- Excellent IT and troubleshooting skills, including:
- Networking
- Software updates
- File conversion
- Hardware diagnostics
- General system maintenance
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within live event environments.
- Desirable
- Experience working in high-capacity music venues or nightclubs.
- Relevant technical or health & safety qualifications.
- Experience managing freelance technical teams.
