Who We Are
Technical Safety & Risk at Xodus plays a key role in helping clients identify, assess and manage process safety, loss prevention and major accident hazard risks across the project lifecycle. Our work is varied, specialist and often delivered as part of integrated, multi-disciplinary teams. This role, although based in our EMEA team also supports technical integration and delivery across our other global regions. We are looking for a collaborative and values-led Technical Safety & Risk Team Lead to help shape the continued growth, technical quality and client impact of our TSR capability. Reporting to the Specialist Services manager, you will support the strategic direction, technical leadership and financial performance of the TSR team, while helping create an inclusive, high-performing and connected team environment.
What You'll Do
The role will involve aspects both of project and technical delivery and business development. This key technical leadership position is both demanding and rewarding and could be undertaken on a full or part time basis. This is a visible and rewarding leadership role, combining project and technical delivery, people development, resource management, business development and client engagement. You will work closely with colleagues across Xodus to support high-quality delivery, identify opportunities for collaboration and growth, and contribute to the development of new and existing client relationships.

Responsibilities
- Lead the team function and technical delivery on a day-to‑day basis creating a culture of empowerment, belonging, collaboration and innovation
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across Technical Safety & Risk projects and consultancy assignments
- Lead resource management for the TSR team and support effective project delivery, utilisation and quality performance
- Help maintain high standards of technical quality, process adherence and client-focused delivery
- Support proposals, tendering activity and commercial and contractual inputs
- Support development of the TSR function and of individuals in the team, identifying technical gaps and contributing to performance reviews
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support future workload and sustainable growth
- Champion digital tools, innovation and new ways of working to strengthen Xodus' technical offer to the energy industry
- Role‑model Xodus' values of trust, responsibility and excellence, with a clear commitment to safety, wellbeing, integrity and inclusion
Qualifications/Skill/Competencies
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline (and/or MSc in Process Safety / Applied Risk Analysis)
- Significant and demonstrable professional experience in technical safety and risk engineering, preferably in the oil & gas or wider energy sector
- Strong practical knowledge of Process and Functional Safety across the extended project lifecycle
- A well-rounded understanding of the regulatory regime for on/offshore operations, including experience across the UK and international contexts
- Experience of Safety Case Development and review
- Experience in QRA development, analysis and consequence modelling
- Experience in delivering critical safety and reliability focussed engineering studies and deliverables
- Experience facilitating technical safety workshops such as HAZID, HAZOP, PHR, SIL, LOPA, RCA and FMECA would be advantageous
