We are seeking an experienced Wallet Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a strategic digital payments transformation programme for a leading financial services organisation. This is a short-term consultancy assignment (approximately 6–8 weeks) focused on reviewing and optimising wallet operations, identifying growth opportunities, and helping define a scalable operating model to support future expansion.
The successful candidate will work alongside senior stakeholders, providing specialist expertise across wallet operations, payments processes, operating model design, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic reviews of existing wallet capabilities, processes, and operating models
- Participate in and challenge stakeholder interviews to uncover operational improvement opportunities
- Assess current organisational structures, resourcing models, governance frameworks, tooling, architecture, and data flows
- Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, and scalability challenges
- Benchmark current practices against industry standards and emerging market trends
- Provide recommendations to support wallet growth, optimisation, and operational excellence
- Contribute subject matter expertise to programme findings, strategic recommendations, and future-state roadmap development
- Deep expertise within digital wallets and wallet ecosystems
- Strong understanding of wallet operations, payments flows, customer journeys, and transaction processing
- Experience evaluating and optimising operating models within payments or financial services environments
- Ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders and challenge constructively
- Previous experience working within consulting, advisory, transformation, or strategic change programmes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting digital wallet growth initiatives
- Knowledge of mobile wallets, tokenisation, digital payments, and emerging wallet technologies
- Exposure to large-scale banking, fintech, or payments transformation programmes
- Contract Assignment: Approximately 6–8 weeks
