We are delighted to offer an opportunity for an experienced farm animal veterinary surgeon to join our expanding, independent, multi-centre practice. With three centres and a team of 16 farm vets, including multiple certificate and diploma holders, we provide a supportive, forward-thinking environment where high clinical standards, professional development and job satisfaction are genuinely valued.
Based in North Cumbria, with the Lake District National Park right on our doorstep, this role offers an excellent quality of life alongside a stimulating and varied farm animal caseload.
The Role
You will work closely with a progressive and motivated client base, delivering proactive, modern farm veterinary services. Our caseload includes a strong dairy focus alongside progressive beef and sheep enterprises, supported by active calf health and flock health clubs.
We pride ourselves on offering more than reactive veterinary care. Our services include structured herd and flock health planning, advanced breeding services, abdominal laparoscopic surgery, VetTech services (including an in-house foot trimmer), farmer training initiatives and overseas farm consultancy work.
Vets are actively encouraged to pursue and develop their own clinical or consultancy interests, with excellent support for CPD, certificates and further qualifications from experienced certificate and diploma holders within the team.
We believe a sustainable career depends on balance. The role offers:
- A quiet out-of-hours rota (currently 1 in 7)
- A 4.5-day working week as standard

- Time off in lieu for overtime (when not on call)

About You
Ideally, you will have:
- At least 2 years' experience in farm animal practice
