Wallace Vets firmly believes that RVNs are essential clinical professionals, not support staff and is committed to ensuring nurses are empowered to fully utilise their skills, grow in their roles, and feel genuinely valued within a supportive, team-led environment.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to carry out the full range of procedures permitted under Schedule 3 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act. This includes minor surgeries, administering medical treatments, placing IVs, managing anaesthesia, and leading nurse consults such as second vaccinations, diabetic clinics, parasite control, post-op checks, and more. Involvement in inpatient care, diagnostics, radiography, dental procedures, client education, and clinical decision-making is central to the role.
Wallace Vets actively encourages RVNs to mentor students, contribute to protocol development, and pursue further training, whether their passion lies in ECC, surgical nursing, or consulting. The practice offers a better work-life balance with a standard four-day week, as well as flexible options for three or five-day patterns. A balanced 1-in-8 weekend rota ensures more time for personal pursuits, and with a dedicated night team providing 24/7 in-house care, nurses can enjoy uninterrupted sleep without emergency call-outs.
Wallace Vets fosters a positive, inclusive team culture with clinical freedom, flexibility, and ample opportunities for professional development. The role comes with a competitive salary, funded CPD, paid professional fees, pension, private medical insurance, staff benefits, and a healthy work-life balance.
This is an ideal opportunity for an RVN who wants to do what they trained for—and feel appreciated doing it.

- CPD and Certificates funded and encouraged
- Great Work/Life Balance
