Buckingham Equine Vets is an independent, progressive equine practice with a reputation for clinical excellence and exceptional client care. We are replacing a valued long serving member of the team relocating for family reasons and are seeking an experienced Senior Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, supportive, and highly skilled group of equine clinicians.
About the Role
We are looking for a vet with strong orthopaedic expertise to further develop our orthopaedic services. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated clinician who enjoys a varied caseload and is passionate about advancing standards of equine orthopaedics. You will work alongside a dedicated team of ambulatory, advanced practitioner and specialist vets, nurses and support staff, contributing to both ambulatory and clinic-based cases. Our facilities include:
- Shockwave, therapeutic laser and acupuncture
- RVC-developed Lameness Locator
- Fully equipped clinic with purpose-built investigation spaces
Key Responsibilities
- Further develop the orthopaedic service, including clinic-based caseload and complex lameness workups
- Perform a range of elective and emergency orthopaedic procedures
- Support and mentor colleagues and students, including involvement with clinical development
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Contribute to advancing clinical standards and best‑practice protocols
About You
We are seeking a vet who is:
- RCVS-registered, with an established background in equine orthopaedic diagnostics
- Confident in managing complex lameness cases
- An excellent communicator with a positive, collaborative approach
- Passionate about delivering high standards of clinical care
