Join XL Team as a first‑line medical responder at events across the United Kingdom. Trainees receive free, high‑quality internal training to deliver life‑saving basic care, including AED use, oxygen therapy and first‑response assessment. You’ll work as part of a friendly, professional clinical team supporting treatment centres, foot patrols and incident responses at a wide variety of events. Uniform and equipment are provided (boots not included). A full UK manual driving licence held for at least 12 months is required.
Responsibilities
- Clinical
- Apply all knowledge and skills acquired in training to deliver care within the defined clinical scope.
- Provide solo first‑response when required and operate confidently as part of a wider multi‑disciplinary team.
- Deliver Basic Life Support (BLS), including safe use of AEDs and emergency oxygen.
- Assess patients to determine the nature and severity of illness or injury and escalate instantly when required.
- Administer initial treatment for minor injuries and support senior clinicians with more serious cases.
- Staff on‑site medical centres, roam foot patrols and response locations as directed.
- Complete Patient Report Forms (PRFs) and associated documentation accurately, legibly, and promptly.
- Respond to emergency and non‑emergency requests calmly, efficiently and professionally.
- Handle radio communications with accuracy and confidentiality, following all information security protocols.
- Maintain readiness by cleaning, organising and restocking kits and equipment after each use.
- Support the wider event operation as needed, including liaison with event staff, security, volunteers and spectators.
- Cooperate effectively with Ambulance Services, other emergency services and partner agencies.
- Conduct yourself courteously, helpfully and professionally at all times.
- Uphold patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control measures and contribute to a safe clinical environment.
- Maintain awareness of current standards of care, equipment use and operational procedures.
- Actively participate in all mandatory e‑learning, CPD, simulations and ongoing training.
- Ensure all certifications and training records remain valid and up to date.
- Work shift times flexibly; roles may require evenings, weekends and long durations on foot.
Qualifications

- Willingness to complete the XL Team training programme (unpaid).
- Full UK manual driving licence held for 12 months or more.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training, CPD and mandatory e‑learning.
- Any prior medical, first aid or responder training (FAW, AED, FREC 3, FPOS etc.).
