The predicted salary is between 11 - 27 £ per hour.

Join the XL Team this year as we seek Event Medical Staff of varying skill levels to support events across the North-East and the UK. From first responders working alone at small low risk venues to large teams of multidisciplinary medical staff managing crowds in temporary medical centres, this role offers diverse experiences in event medical services.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Delivering pre-hospital care to those who become ill or injured at large scale events.
  • Responding to emergency and non-emergency requests calmly, efficiently and promptly.
  • Administering basic life support to patients at the scene, in a pre-hospital/pre-transport setting.
  • Assessing the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritise medical procedures.
  • Completing patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion.
  • Cleaning, organising and restocking supplies in a ready condition after each use.
  • Handling radio communications professionally and efficiently.
  • Working cooperatively with assisting agencies, including event staff, volunteers, security teams, ambulance services, event participants and spectators.

The worker must perform all job responsibilities in a manner that protects patient privacy and is expected to actively participate in monthly mandatory training (e-learning) and any other relevant training for their role. They must be a team player, ensure infection prevention and control measures are maintained, and conduct themselves in a courteous, helpful, dignified and professional manner at all times.

Qualifications include a willingness to complete training (provided free of charge) and we are currently seeking Event Medical staff of all grades:

  • Doctors (GMC registered with a license to practice)
  • Nurses (NMC registered) - with acute / emergency setting experience
  • Paramedics (HCPC registered)
  • Emergency Medical Technicians - IHC
  • Emergency Ambulance Crew (NHS / SJA / BRC / FREC 5)
  • Emergency Care Assistants (NHS / FREC 4- with valid RCUK ILS certificate)
  • Student Paramedics
  • Ambulance Care Assistants (NHS)
  • First Aiders - First Aid at Work / AED / Medical Gases

Experience in customer service or public facing roles is preferred. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and will require a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Pay ranges from £11.80 to £27.50 an hour depending on grade and experience.
