AXA XL is the Property & Casualty risk division of AXA, created from the acquisition of XL Catlin in 2018. We partner with mid-sized to multinational clients to take their business further, with more than 30 lines of business to offer solutions for existing and emerging risks. With 9,000+ colleagues based in approximately 30 countries, we serve clients in over 200 countries.
The key purpose of this role is to support the Head of Capital Modelling – Division in ensuring that the risk profile of the AXA XL Division is adequately modelled and communicated. This includes engagement with AXA Group and the ACPR on capital issues, such as the annual SCR assessment process.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the development and maintenance of an internal capital model that reflects AXA Group standards, including parameterisation, validation, and documentation.
- Coordinate and run governance processes for the internal model.
- Produce and present analyses such as the XLB Standard formula (BSCR) to senior management to support business strategy and planning.
- Be a subject matter expert on reinsurance implementation in the capital model, including the impact of ceded structures and maintaining analyses of reinsurance programs.
- Liaise on the Reinsurance Credit risk module, setting and challenging parameters and outputs.
- Communicate methodology and output to non-technical stakeholders.
- Develop and optimise model outputs for key stakeholders, ensuring they meet business needs.
- Respond to queries regarding the capital or risk position of the Division.
- Provide capital modelling outputs for actuarial analyses and risk opinions.
- Support other entities within AXA XL using the model outputs.
- Manage and develop a team of three junior staff members.
- Proven experience in capital modelling or similar simulation-based roles.
- Curious, innovative, and open to new ideas.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Highly numerate and analytical with a strong academic background.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- SQL and R coding skills are beneficial.
- Self-starter with strong organisational skills.
