We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Senior Product Qualification Engineer responsible for ensuring new and existing products meet all regulatory, carrier, and environmental requirements for global market launch. The role ensures products meet global compliance standards, perform reliably under real-world conditions, and are optimized for best-in-class hardware performance. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in wireless technologies with experience navigating certification processes and coordinating cross-functional engineering teams. The position is based at the Belfast site in Mallusk.
What You’ll Do:
- Regulatory & RF Compliance: Plan, execute, and manage RF regulatory approval activities (e.g., FCC, ISED, CE/RED, UKCA). Develop test plans and support pre-scan testing for EMC, RF performance, SAR, and safety. Interface with external test labs and regulatory bodies to ensure timely certification.
- Carrier & Network Certification: Own the end-to-end certification process for major global carriers (e.g., Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile). Coordinate device testing for PTCRB, GCF, CTIA, and operator-specific requirements. Validate 4G/5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, and cellular modem performance.
- Environmental & Reliability Testing: Define and execute environmental qualification plans (e.g., thermal cycling, vibration, shock, drop, humidity, ingress protection, HALT/HASS). Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to validate product robustness. Analyze test results, root-cause failures, and drive corrective actions to closure. Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ISO 16750, MIL-STD-810, IP ratings).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, firmware, product management, and operations teams during product development. Support design reviews with regulatory and reliability insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, especially in cross-functional environments.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
