Description

About us
Xiatech is the pioneer of Xfuze, the world’s first AI-powered composable Integration, Data Management, Analytics and Orchestration Platform that innovatively connects systems, creates a single view of data and delivers actionable insights in one cloud-native, SaaS solution. Business, technology and data teams use Xfuze to shorten time-to-insights, accelerate digital transformation, and extend the value of their legacy technology investments.
We’re a culture-first organisation and put our people at the forefront of everything we do. We believe that a great working environment leads to a happy and productive team, which is why we offer our staff the flexibility to work remotely or from our beautiful office in Fitzrovia, Central London.

The Role
We're looking for a highly motivated, independent Principal Implementation Engineer to become an Xfuze "super user", architecting and delivering end-to-end, data-driven solutions for our clients. You'll be involved from the start of each engagement: understanding requirements at pre-sales, running business analysis, building conceptual architecture through to high-level design across data, integration, and agentic AI workflows, then getting hands-on to configure the platform yourself.

You'll likely have a background in data and/or integration, an architecture and design mindset, strong communication skills, and a natural ability to lead others. Ideally you've worked on a data/integration or complex Enterprise SaaS platform within a professional services team, with a track record of delivering successful projects. Deep technical expertise everywhere isn't required, but a solid technical foundation and willingness to learn are essential. This is a broad, end-to-end role, so flexibility is key.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead other Implementation Engineers, helping them grow and get the most from Xfuze
  • Own pre-sales, discovery, design, environment, releases, and supportability end-to-end, acting as gatekeeper for designs from other Senior Implementation Engineers
  • Support estimating and sizing projects through pre-sales and delivery
  • Collaborate with Client Partners and Pre-Sales on commercial aspects, and with the product team (including our Central Design Group) on technical aspects
  • Make high-level design decisions with enterprise-grade architectural maturity, validating designs prior to formal review

Product Implementation

  • Take a "standard first" approach, challenging requests for bespoke customisation
  • Analyse, explore, and validate data with clients to understand structures and use cases
  • Identify product gaps and coordinate with the platform team to resolve them
  • Produce high-level designs using standard templates; scrutinise and approve low-level designs, config specs, and code
  • Deliver complex implementations, including custom plugins and data model extensions, working with data engineers and platform developers
  • Configure connectors (e.g., Shopify, Akeneo, Bloomreach, Optimove), workflows, and data transformations
  • Create and extend Power BI dashboards using Xfuze data layers
  • Support rigorous testing and QA of solutions

Consulting & Client Engagement

  • Contribute to commercial proposals and implementation strategy
  • Understand client landscapes and use cases; advise on best practices and the right implementation path
  • Manage key stakeholders (e.g., Solution Architects, Heads of Engineering/Development/Data)
  • Produce documentation and training guides for other Implementation Engineers
  • Act as the "Voice of the Customer", advocating for recurring custom work to be folded into the Core Platform roadmap

Your Knowledge & Experience
Must have

  • Independent, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with the drive to see initiatives through
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, confident presenting to clients and stakeholders at all levels

Should have

  • Strong business analysis skills: capturing requirements, analysing use cases, translating them into solutions
  • Strong data modelling knowledge, able to design complex models
  • Competent in Python or similar for writing functions and plugins (not necessarily expert level)
  • Intermediate SQL
  • Proficient with at least one cloud environment
  • Comfortable using AI tooling for efficiency; understands Agentic AI concepts and AI guardrails
  • Retail experience preferred; expertise in at least one complex domain required

Desirable

  • Proficient in Power BI or similar (or able to learn quickly)
  • Good working knowledge of modern architectures and leading data platforms
  • Experience with Boomi, Mulesoft, or similar integration platforms

Your Personality

  • Energetic
  • Driven
  • Innovative
  • Resilient
  • Insightful
  • Creative
  • Analytical
  • Sound judgement
  • Strong problem solver
  • Quick learner

How to prepare for a job interview at Xiatech

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Xiatech uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
