The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join Xiatech as a DevOps Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to progress their career further in a forward-thinking and rapidly expanding organisation. As a DevOps Engineer at Xiatech, you will combine aspects of the design, development, and maintenance of scalable infrastructure in the Cloud. You’ll be an integral part of our DevOps team and work closely with peers to assist in developing infrastructure orchestration and continuous integration systems. You will have a keen interest in problem-solving and learning new technologies and you will be eager to contribute to building reliable systems and continuously improving deployment processes. Key Responsibilities
- Build and configure new development tools and infrastructure.
- Ensure that all critical platform processes, from provisioning to scale out, maintain and continuously improve to a high level of automation to avoid reactive problem solving.
- Identify technical problems and develop updates and resolutions.
- Define and implement the onboarding process for new customers to the platform from the platform infrastructure and automation perspective to create a seamless experience.
Security
- Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
- Hands‑on in the implementation of the roadmap items and marshalls these items to production.
Cross-Functional Support
- Work with Software & Data Engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
- Align platform roadmap priorities with the needs of Software Engineers and QA teams to drive an infrastructure strategy that consistently enhances engineering productivity and effectiveness.
- Monitoring strong financial control capabilities for platform instances and work on price performance optimisation of infrastructure and software.
- Understand about the right sizing, capacity planning and capacity forecasting efforts for the platform.
Your Knowledge and Experience
Must-have
- Prior experience in a DevOps or Infrastructure role
- Experience with Github or any other source control
- Previous experience working with YAML or JSON files
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or experience with Amazon Web Services
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker
- Familiarity with any CI/CD tools (CircleCI, ArgoCD, Jenkins, etc.)
- Knowledge of infrastructure management with Terraform
- Basic Linux knowledge
- Strong desire to learn and grow within a technical team
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
- Exposure to big data technologies such as MongoDB, Kafka, Databricks or Bigquery
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI, Jenkins or ArgoCD
- Experience working within an agile environment
- Knowledge of scripting/coding languages such as Golang, Bash, JS or Python
- Prior exposure to systems integration across cloud providers
- Experience with AWS databases such as RDS, DynamoDB or DocumentDB
- Exposure to diagnostic and analytical troubleshooting skills
