As an Engineer in our newly formed UK Regional Team, you will deliver the features most critical to Xero’s success in the UK. You will play a vital role in responding to the voice of our customers, ensuring we have the right product for the UK to directly drive business success. You will independently solve complex problems across Xero’s products, ensuring technical excellence while navigating the complexity between regional needs and global roadmaps to deliver maximum value.
The team consists of an Engineering Manager, Lead Engineers, and Senior Engineers, reporting to the General Manager of Engineering for the UK. The team works as a flexible, versatile team, collaborating with various product owners across Xero to design, build, and ship solutions. You’ll tackle projects anywhere across Xero’s products from Payments to Accounting to Payroll, offering you unparalleled exposure to our entire platform.
Xero is a “Great Place to Work UK” accredited company. We offer remote, hybrid or office based roles (hybrid and in-office in London, Milton Keynes or Manchester). Our offices offer boost days for connection and collaboration. As this role involves partnering with global teams, you can expect opportunities for travel as we collaborate with colleagues around the world.
Here are some of the things we are looking for:
- You bring a curious mindset and are motivated by solving customer problems and delivering business value rather than focusing on a single technical domain.
- You love the challenge of new things, and your versatility allows you to ramp up quickly in new areas, mastering unfamiliar codebases and domain knowledge quickly.
- You possess the grit to push through obstacles and the influencing skills required to collaborate effectively with teams across Xero’s global engineering organisation.
- A commitment to high-quality engineering practices ensures the code you ship is robust, scalable, and ready for long-term ownership by partner teams.
- You thrive in an environment of high visibility, using your communication skills to engage with stakeholders and grow your professional influence.
- Experience in resilient software design and agile development helps you maintain a fast-track delivery pace across diverse projects.
Apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.
